{"id":1941,"date":"2024-03-20T10:28:27","date_gmt":"2024-03-20T08:28:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jrehe.reviste.ubbcluj.ro\/?page_id=1941"},"modified":"2024-03-20T10:35:22","modified_gmt":"2024-03-20T08:35:22","slug":"special-issue-contemporary-challenges-in-the-field-of-higher-education","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/jrehe.reviste.ubbcluj.ro\/index.php\/callforpapers\/special-issue-contemporary-challenges-in-the-field-of-higher-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Special Issue \u2013 Contemporary Challenges in the Field of Higher Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry\">\n<h2>Call for Papers<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Submissions are invited for publication in the next issues of the Journal of Research in Higher Education, published by Babe\u0219-Bolyai University and edited by the <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"ro-RO\">Qualitas\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Centre<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">,\u00a0<\/span><\/span> (Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Dan Florentin CHIRIBUC\u0102).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">In 2017, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.deloitte.com\/content\/dam\/Deloitte\/uk\/Documents\/public-sector\/deloitte-uk-making-the-grade-2015.pdf\">study<\/a> published by Deloitte identified seven main challenges facing higher education sector in UK which are just as valid at global level in 2015 and beyond, namely:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">operating in a global market,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Increasing costs and shifting funding,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">rising student expectations,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">a demand and need for new technologies,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">linking estates, strategy and the students,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">attracting and retaining the best talent, and<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">making research sustainable.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">They concluded that the \u201chigher education sector must transform further in order to adapt to the seven key issues facing it.\u201d How are these challenges and transformations reflected at institutional, national and regional level?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">However, in a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iie.org\/~\/media\/Files\/Corporate\/Membership\/IIE-Research-Reports\/Research-Report-029.pdf?la=en\">volume<\/a> published in 1999, Peter Darvas warned that global higher education issues and trends might have a limited impact in Central and Eastern Europe and that \u201csome institutional and systemic challenges in transitional societies exceed anything advanced countries have ever faced\u201d (p. 80).
